Question: Can I hide my Mailman list from the list of public lists in order 
to make it less vulnerable to abuse?

Answer:

If you would like your Mailman list to not be published on the list of
public lists at

	https://mailman.isrl.uiuc.edu/mailman/listinfo/

you can change your list's privacy settings.  To do this, log on to the
administration page at

	https://lists.prairienet.org/mailman/admin/listname

where "listname" is replaced with the actual name of your list. Once you
have logged in with listowner password, select the "Privacy Options" link 
under "Configuration Categories."  The first setting asks you if you want 
to "Advertise this list when people ask what lists are on this machine."  
Just set this to "No" and click on the "Submit Your Changes" button.
